We have a marvelous breakfast buffet to stat with each day. It is in a huge serving area with
numerous chefs preparing anything people want to eat. One side has truly authentic Mexican food
for the Mexican guests at the hotel. I'm amazed at the way they make their tamalies,
braiding corn husks in decorative steaming sleaves. I will probaably try one today. This photo shows the kinds of things available, but doesn't do it justice. We don't like thier pastries, they look the same as in the US, but they must cook them in lard or something because they taste strange. The bacon and sauage, is like Canada, very fine ground, and thin sliced. Not the hardy fattening stuff we eat in the US. Ha Ha!
The fruits here are wonderful, but you won't find berries. They need cooler climates, but fresh quava, mellons of all kinds and great fruit drinks. This green smoothie for breakfast was made with various mellons, spinach and cactus. I really liked it. The guava has seeds in it I don't care for. The Mexican's said just swallow the seeds. No thank you! The papya, watermellon varieties, cantelope, and grapes are wonderful. I'll get some better pictures this morning. We ate so much we didn't need lunch!! Price 768 pesos 44 $US. We figure we'll just eat two big meals / day, and have treats which I'll close with.
Everywhere you look is beautiful. This is a shot from the breakfast buffet window.
Arch with beautiful flowers leading out to the pool.
As mentioned yesterday, there are lots of waterfalls throughout the hotel. This shot is
from the glass elevator. Doesn't do it just. Verybeautiful, and you can hear water falls from the room.
This shot is from the 3rd floor and shows the security at the hotel. We don't fear for anything
we've walked a bit, and intend to do more. They just don't want a bunch of vagrants coming
into the place. People are peddling things to buy everywhere.
The flowers are simply beaufiul, but we find them less frangrant than those in Hawaii. You could smell the flowers at the resort in Hawaii but even up close these don't produce much fragrance. I was amazed that the blooms are different colors from what appeared to be the same bush, but maybe not.
Various shots of the resort.
They call it paradise down here. Pretty relaxing for sure.
Lots of pool time today. You can see in the one shot, that the pool goes right out to the ocean.
These are shots at the hotel entrance. We walked across the street to book our golf tee time for today.
The hotel is located as stated yesterday in Marina Vallarta, so it has lots of boating, and golf. We're are both exccited to play. Not just Mike! I hope I can tolerate the heat. We've been told there are lots of crocodiles on the course, so I'm sure we'll have stories nad photos for tomorrow.
As mentioned previously, I spent three hours on a conference call looking out the
bedroom window. You can see how nice it is. If we open the front door and the patio door
the breeze fills the room and is wonderful.
This penthouse is just below our room, and is availalble for rent. Don't know how much!!
We were walking at the beach, and they were doing professional photo shoot with a female
model out on the huge patio with lighting etc.
Various shots, the top is another waterfall shot in the hotel. The next is a dummy on a parasail. We haven't
seen anyone doing this. There is a sign on the beach stating it is a very dangerous sport, and lots of people
get hurt doing it. Marriott says they are not responsbile if you do it. The bottom shot is a pirate ship that sets out to sea every day about sundown for people to ride on. The sails don't impress me. It sails under power, not air I beleive. We're trying to find out about a wonderful ocean dinner cruise we heard about back home.
Here's one shot of the golf course we will play today. It's the Marina Vallarta Country Club. Twight green fees are 80$ US and 50$ US to rent clubs. More photos tomorrow!!
Various twilight pool shots. It was very warm, but low light sunshine. Heidi said she still got a bit of a tan.
Heidi took a massage and spa day during my conference call. We will get some photos of that place today
and she can tell you about it all. She had a great experience and had fun doing that.
Well, we ended the day with dinner at the Mikado restaurant. They had all kinds of authentic sushi, sushimi,
tempura, etc.
I really liked the food, but Heidi didn't care for the sushi rolls. We also learned you can't ask a Mexican to
make hot and sour soup. It isn't at all like you get in the US as you can see. Full of shrimp and veggies. More like a combo of wonton and tortilla soup. It was very spicy hot. It was hot going in, and
I'm sure it will be hot going out! Ha Ha.
The day ended with the typical desert.
One scoop of Pralines and Cream and one scoop of something different.
Last night is was pistachio almond, tonight it was coconut!!
We love you all!
It looks great! Wish we were there with you :)
